Tomorrow Night on Fireside Horror: “Dust at the Center of All Things”

Tomorrow night on Fireside Horror with John F.D. Taff, I’ll be reading from my story “Dust at the Center of All Things,” which appears in Evil Jester Digest #1.  The story is my riff on the mummy trope in horror, but a little different from the Boris Karloff Mummy you may be accustomed to.

Evil Jester Digest is available now.  Go here to get it:

Fireside Horror is my live UStream program that airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. CST.  I read from one of my works, take questions, have a drink, and generally just get a chance to interact with my readers.  Go here on Thursday to watch Fireside Horror with John F.D. Taff:

See ya tomorrow night!

Night Bird Out in Big Pulp Spring 2012

My short story “Night Bird,” is out this month in the Spring 2012 issue of Big Pulp.

“Night Bird” is a little horror riff brought to mind by the old lady who swallowed the fly…then proceeded, somewhat inexplicably, to swallow an number of improbable and increasingly larger creatures to eat the one before it.  The rhyme ends, amusingly, with the words “I guess she’ll die.”

Big Pulp is a multi-genre quarterly available in print versions for just$10 and in ebook format for just $2.99.

Your ebook copy can be had here:

Print versions are available at Big Pulp.

Go get one.  I got my contributor copy the other day.  It’s pretty…pulpy!

Horror for Good Cover & TOC!

So, here’s the final front and back cover for Horror for Good, the AIDS charity horror anthology that took my story, “The Depravity of Inanimate Things.”  Pretty cool.  That’s my name there, on the back cover, toward the bottom.  This book comes out March 30, and I’ll post purchase information when it’s available.  Pretty cool list of names, huh?

Tonight on Fireside Horror with John F.D. Taff: “Cold Calls”

On Tonight’s episode of Fireside Horror with John F.D. Taff, I’ll be reading an excerpt from “Cold Calls,” a funny little vampire story that appeared in Best New Vampire Tales, Volume 1.

Fireside Horror happens each Thursday evening (well, at least last Thursday and this Thursday), at 9 p.m. CST.  I’ve bookmarked the UStream channel in my links in the left-hand column.  But here it is again:

What is Fireside Horror with John F.D. Taff, you ask?  And ask you might if you were actually reading this.  Anyway, during Fireside Horror with John F.D. Taff, I read a stirring excerpt from one of my short stories, a story that can be purchased at Amazon.  (There are links to do so embedded right in the UStream channel.)  After the reading, I take questions from the audience (if you’re watching), and that’s it.  Quick, about 20 minutes, relatively painless and could be fun.  Yes, there is an actual fireplace.  And yes, I will be drinking.

Anyway, hope to see you there tonight.  Let’s face it, I hope to  see anyone.
